ADOBE PAGEMAKER.
Introduction :- Adobe page maker is a page composition software program developed by adobe co-operation of U.S.A. It is used to publication for publishing books, newspaper, card, certificate and much more.
To access page maker
Go to start.
Click on program. (displays a pad)
Click on adobe . (displays a pad)
Click on PageMaker.
You will get a PageMaker's window.
Go to file menu.
Click on new (displays a box)
You should create a page.
Click on ok.
Tool box :
Select tool :- This tool is used to select the object or matter.
Text tool :- This tool is used to type the text.
Rotate tool :- This tool is used to rotate the selected matter.
Line tool :- This tool is used to draw a line.
Straight line tool :- This tool is used to draw a straight line.
Oval tool :- This tool is used to draw the oval.
Rectangular :- This tool is used to draw the rectangular.
Polygon tool :- This tool is used to draw the polygon.
Zoom tool :- This tool is used to enlarge and reduce the view size.
Hand tool :- This tool is used to move the page.
Control pallet
You can enter the control pallet by pressing (ctrl+~) key.
You can change the font, font style, font size, leading, horizontal
scale for the font.(WORD CONTROL PALLE)
You can change wide, height and rotation for the object.(OBJECT CONTROL PALLET )
File menu
Recent publication :- It keeps our files, which is recently created or opened.
You can open again.
Go to file menu.
Click on recent publication.
Click on file.
Place (Ctrl+D) :- It is used to import an object or image from different location.
Go to file menu.
Click on place (displays a box)
You should select an image from different location.
Click on place.
Link Manage (Ctrl+Sift+D) :- It shows the link status of the placed object or image and you can change it same size.
You should place the object and select it.
Go to file menu.
Click on Link Manage. (displays a box)
Click on Info (Displays a box)
You can select an image.
Click on ok.
Document setup (Ctrl+Shift+P) :- It is used to re-set up a page.
Go to file menu.
Click on Document setup. (displays a box)
You can re-set the page as your requirement.
Click on ok.
Print Style :- This option is used to define in job in a name and you can direct print it.
Go to file menu.
Click on Print Style.
Click on define. (displays a box)
Click on new. (displays a box)
You should type name.
Click on ok.
Preference (Ctrl+K) :- You can used this option to set measurement unit, resolution, Type graph etc.
Go to file menu.
Click on Preference. (displays a box)
You can set unit, resolution.
Click on more. (displays a box)
You can add or remove the type graph.
Click on ok.
Edit menu
Paste multiple :- You can used this option to paste the copied matter according the number of copies.
You should cut or copied the matter.
Go to edit menu.
Click on Paste multiple. (displays a box)
You should give number in copies box.
You can set horizontal, vertical off set.
Click on ok.
Edit story :- It helps to you check the spelling and find or replace the text.
Go to edit menu.
Click on Edit story. (displays a box)
Go to utility menu.
Click on spelling and grammar. (displays a box)
You can spelling and grammar by suggestion box.
Click on edit layout from edit menu.
Layout menu
Go to page (Alt+G) :- You can use this option to go to the specify page.
Go to Layout menu.
Click on Go to page. (displays a box)
You should type number.
Click on ok.
Insert page :- It is used to insert the page as your requirement.
Go to layout menu.
Click on Insert page (displays a box)
You should give number.
Click on ok.
Remove page :- You can used this option to remove the specify page.
Go to layout menu.
Click on Remove page. (displays a box)
You should give number .............to..............
Click on ok.
Sort page :- This option is used to sort the page.
Go to layout menu.
Click on Sort menu. (displays a box)
Click on option.
You should click double facing page.
Click on ok.
Go back (page down) :- You can used this option to go back te previous page.
Go forward (page up) :- You can used this option to go to next page.
Go to layout menu.
Click on Go forward.
Column Guide :- It helps you to make column on the page.
Go to layout menu.
Click on Column guide. (displays a box)
You should give column number and space between two pages.
Click on ok.
Column master Guide :- It is used to remove the column guide.
You should set column guide.
Go to layout menu.
Click on Column master guide.
Auto flow :- It is used to flow the text automatically.
Go to layout menu.
You should tick mark on auto flow.
Go to file menu.
Click on place. (displays a box)
You should choose the file of ms-word.
Click on place.
Type menu
Font :- It is used to change the fonts.
Size :- It is used to change or set the font's size.
Style :- It is used to change or set the font's style.
Leading :- It is used to set leading between two lines.
Export tracking :- It is used to set loose, tight, position at the selected text.
Horizontal scale :- It is used to set scale of selected text.
Character :- To set font, font style, size and leading etc.
Go to type menu.
Click on character. (displays a box)
You can set font, size, style and leading.
Click on ok.
Indent and tab (Ctrl+I) :- To set the tab in the selected text.
You should select the text.
Go to Type menu.
Click on Indent and Tab (displays a box)
You can set scale.
Click on apply.
Click on ok.
Alignment :- It is used to set alignment at in selected word.
Go to type menu.
Click on Alignment (displays a pad)
You should choose options such as align left, justify etc.
Element menu
Fill :- To fill the color in the selected oval, polygon and rectangular.
You should draw an object.
Go to Element menu.
Click on fill. (displays a pad)
You can choose solid paper.
Stroke :- To increase and decrease the stroke size.
You should select line.
Go to Element menu.
Click on Stroke. (displays a stroke's pad)
You should select stroke size.
Fill and Stroke :- It is used to set Fill color and Stroke width.
Go to Element menu.
Click on Fill and Stroke. (displays a box)
You can set Fill and Stroke width.
Click on ok.
Arrange :- It is used to arrange the selected object.
Go to Element menu.
Click on Arrange. (displays a box)
You can select any one arrange.
Align object :- You can used this option to align the selected object.
You should select the object.
Go to Element menu.
Click on align object. (displays a box)
You can select position.
Click on ok.
Text wrap :- It is used to wrap the text according to the object.
You should draw a frame.
Go to Element menu.
Click on Text wrap. (displays a box)
You can select wrap option.
You can select text flow.
Click on ok.
Group (Ctrl+G) :- You can used this option to group the selected object.
You should select an object.
Go to Element menu.
Click on Group.
Ungroup (Ctrl+Shift+G) :- It is used to ungroup the grouped matter.
You should group it.
Go to Element menu.
Click on ungroup.
Lock :- It is used to lock the selected object.
You should select an object.
Go to Element menu.
Click on Lock.
Unlock :- It is used to unlock the locked matter.
You should lock the matter.
Go to Element menu.
Click on unlock.
Mask :- to show the selected part of object.
You should select an object and image.
Go to Element menu.
Click on mask.
Note :- If you want to insert the page number in page maker You process it
Go to master page.
You should drag the area by clicking text toolbar.
And press Ctrl+Alt+P.
And go to the main page.
How to make pure alignment of your texts when you create a magazine.
You should select the text layer.
Go to edit menu.
Click on edit story.
Go to utilities menu.
Click on change. (displays a box)
You should type /^ in find box.
You should type ^/ in Change box.
Click on Find
Click on change all.
Go to story menu.
Click on close story.
